• Combination pegylated interferon and ribavirin treatment is achieving an overall sustained viral clearance rate of 60% across all genotypes or strains of the virus, and up to 80% clearance rate for people with genotype 3.

• Importantly, there have also been improvements in the management of treatment side effects, with 80% of people on treatment managing the side effects and completing treatment.
