Heart Failure is a chronic (or long term) condition that occurs when the heart muscle works less effectively than normal and cannot pump as effectively as it usually does.
As a result of heart failure, the heart may become enlarged or thickened and weaken over time. Your heart will keep pumping, but less efficiently.
