  • Pakistan Flood Emergency: Call for GP Volunteers to join AusAID for 30 day deployment. The need is for primary care, maternal and child health and midwifery care. GPV is assisting the Department of Health to establish a register of GPs who are interested in volunteering for a 30 day deployment to Kot Addu (North of Multan in Punjab Province).   • ACCEPt Information Sheet - Chlamydia is Australia’s most commonly notified sexually transmitted infection. As over 80% of infections in men and women are asymptomatic, screening is the main way to detect cases of Chlamydia. ACCEPt is a randomised controlled trial to evaluate annual Chlamydia testing in general practice can be effective at reducing the burden of Chlamydia in the population, and if so, how a national testing program should be introduced. Of the towns and suburbs across Victoria, NSW and Qld half will receive a Chlamydia testing intervention, the other half will continue with usual practice. All clinics will receive $1200 for participating and GPs will be eligible for 40 Cat 1 QA&CPD points. Aug 2010

  • Individual GP Supervisor Active Learning Module The National QA&CPD unit has put together an 'Individual GP Supervisor Active Learning Module (ALM)' for all the GP Supervisors looking after registrars. This will entitle all the GP Supervisors to claim 40 category 1 points only once within the triennium, all they need to do is submit a completed Individual GP Supervisor Active Learning Module (ALM) to their respective QA&CPD unit. The form will also be circulated in the next edition of e--bulllletin.   • RACGP QA&CPD Program 2008-2010 – this flyer provides an overview of key elements of the 2008–2010 QA&CPD Program. A CD-ROM containing the 2008–2010 QA&CPD Program handbook will accompany your December edition of the Australian Family Physician (AFP).
